The Father Thing
I absolutely loved this story. I was a bit hesitant at the beginning of the story wether or not it was going to be interesting but it proved itself note worthy! Part of what I loved about this story is that it is told form the perspective of a child. Children are notoriously getting their information wrong or making up stories completely. Because if this I was trying almost the whole story to prove Charles wrong. When they found the bug I believed that they had found something weird in the garden and decided to blame it for all their problems. It wasn't until Charles was in the bamboo with the other larvae that I began to suspect that he was telling the truth about the entire thing. It was at that point that I became horrified at the notion of giant bugs taking over human bodies and assuming their roles in society. Overall it was a fantastic story but I was disappointed that the ending was as swift and incomplete as it was. I guess that just goes to show you that once you understand something and are able to defeat it that there is nothing else to finish.
