Out of all the readings in Phillip K. Dick's reading, "The Father Thing" was my favorite reading because it related a lot to family and reality. Although Charles is very young, it is evident that he was able to understand what was going around his surroundings more than anyone in the text. His mom seemed to know what was going on but avoided reality. I think this is because she was trying to keep the peace in the house. This is unlike all the other readings in where the other family member completely avoids the situation without giving a second thought to it.
Charles' actions and thoughts leads me to believe that maybe our world consists of eerie things like aliens and creatures from out of space. It might not be the same as what Charles experienced in the reading, but i do believe that our world consists of things that are still unknown and "out of the universe".
