The Word for World is Forest

The science fiction novel "The Word For World is Forest " Ursula K. Le Guin was very interesting to me due to the fact that it was super short, yet Guin attempted into fitting as much information possible pertaining to the theme of culture vs environment. All in all, I understood from the story a strong theme of cultural insensitivity and how subjectivity and ignorance can indeed cause destruction. I feel like Guin tries to send the message of human insensitivity and how even in our world, not the fictional one, a major problem is the inability to distinguish different cultural norms. What may seem sacred to one population, may not be sacred to another. She could of chosen any type of made up race to be the invaders, but she specifically chose a human race and very militaristic one at that to deliver the message.
