This last couple of readings pertaining to scify really did it for me. I've always loves scify and the concept of aliens and spaceships and other worlds in a galaxy far far away..
All of these stories just made me think of my favorite scify book, War of The Worlds, by H.G. Wells. The way scify transports one to a completely different world without explanation is what completely wows me as a reader. The sense of escape is something that I value when reading a book, and is something that really draws me. I like having to do some detective work as I read to figure out what is really going on and put together all the pieces to this fantastic and awe striking puzzle. Its like a journey, reading about unreal things and unreal actions and events. Not just fictional, but other worldly.
