Word for World is Forest

The concept of language was particularly interesting to me, because it helped make realistic these new worlds. Le Guin creates a different language and identifies places and beings with new names, some having more than one name and others, without translations. There is great power in language, and the ability to portray ideas through words further adds to the complexity of this element of science fiction. I relate this to my life and my capacity as a bilingual speaker. There are some things I cannot express in one language that I can in another, and those who speak the same language as I do, are able to relate better and share a greater depth of understanding. This idea of understanding and misunderstanding was present in the text in regards to the Athsheans and Terrans.
